Jaron Mink is an Assistant Professor in the School of Computing and Augmented Intelligence at Arizona State University and completed their Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Jaron investigates how human factors affect the security and trustworthiness of machine learning systems. Their work appears in top-tier computer science venues on security (USENIX Security, IEEE S&P, SOUPS), human factors (ACM CHI), responsible ML (ACM FAccT), and measurements (ACM IMC). This work has been covered by a variety of news outlets (New Scientist, The Transmitter, The 21st Show) and podcasts (Human-Centered Security). Jaron is an awardee of the Google Research Scholar Program and NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP), and has served as a consultant for Partnership on AI and the Center for Democracy and Technology, NGOs that foster the responsible development of AI systems.
